Unexpected News - 9/19/2016
It has been quite a week for the Bernard family.  Dad has been dealing with some health issues over the past months.  After having his gall bladder removed with no improvement on his health, they decided to perform more tests.  On September 16th, Dad was diagnosed with Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer.   Our family is full of Bible believing Christians who know that God heals and our faith is strong.  We also believe that God gave Doctors the incredible insight to be able to treat and combat diseases like cancer that so many people face.   This Friday dad will see Drs at Mayo Clinic, where Bob III and I live and pastor a congregation.  Our family will be together this week for a little "family reunion".  We're excited to be together but wish it were under different circumstances.  

We would love your prayers as we forge through the next few weeks and months.  We know chemo is ahead and will update as we know more.  Grillin' Magic is an important part of Dad's life and legacy.  We couldn't think of a better way to honor him than to make some updates and reach out a bit farther to give people a little bit of what Dad's passionate about.  

In the past, Grillin' Magic income has gone to missions.  Through GM income, Dad has been to India 8 times!  He'll continue to share those stories with you. And Dad made it clear that he will still be paying his missions pledges.  :-)   For now, the Bernard children - Donna & Josh, Bob & Rachelle - have decided to allocate any GM income to help support mom and dad.  The expenses that go with extensive cancer treatment are great.  Grillin' Magic is one way that we can help support them during this time.  

We will know much more about Dad's treatment plan this Friday.  We will then begin a caring bridge site for his family and friends to stay updated on how he is doing.  We'll link the caring bridge site to this page of the GM website.  We'll try to write some encouraging posts and use this Grillin' Magic site as a tool to minister to others while we fight this battle together.  Stay connected here to get your Grillin' Magic.  When you use it...pray for dad.  Pray for us.  We know those prayers are powerful.
